I agree with eliminating the cap or, at least, kicking it up much higher. The retirement age should also index higher commensurate with the rise in expected lifespan. Social security was intended to serve as protection at a time when the average lifespan was much lower therefore needing to pay out for fewer years. The average lifespan has increased dramatically since the 1930’s requiring SS to fund many more years of retirement than was ever intended.
