So true. I just separated from my wife of 44 years through mediation. We may have been toxic towards each other as a couple but mediation worked because we always operated fairly under full disclosure of everything. There never were any secrets and we didn't start harboring any during the mediation. It was tough. Painful. However, after 5 sessions over a period of 3 months, the war was over. Peace broke out for both of us.
